"Call me Ray," he says. And his patients do. Dr. Ray Erickson's friendly, caring and careful attitude toward his patients helps to maintain the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere his staff and his practice are known for.

"I enjoy working with teeth because I have always liked to work with my hands, using very small, intricate techniques and tools, some of which I've designed myself," the good doctor says. "But it isn't so much about working on teeth...our concern really is about how fixing your teeth is going to effect you and your life. Your mouth is a very sensitive part of your being, and we respect that when we are working in it.

"In this office, we all feel like we're contributing to your overall well-being when we're able to fix your teeth, enhance your appearance, and make you more comfortable with yourself and your life."

Because of Dr. Ray's specialized training and reknowned prosthodontic skills, local dentists -- and sometimes dentists in Seattle and in other states -- regularly send patients with complex or complicated dental situations to him.

"Lori, my office manager, tells me that when patients come out to her after we're finished with their treatment, sometimes they'll be in tears -- not from pain or discomfort -- but because they are so overwhelmed by the results of the treatment we've completed."

Says Office Manager Lori Fitzgerald, "Patients with complex cases often require treatment over an extended period, so we all get to know them pretty well, and they feel comfortable expressing themselves to us. Sometimes after a difficult case is completed, we've had people say, 'I never thought I would look this good. I'm so grateful....' And they just cry. They just let down their guard...they walk out of here extremely happy, at ease, transformed. For me, that is the most rewarding part of working with Dr. Ray."

Ray Erickson, D.D.S., M.S., has a B.A. in Music Education (he plays the oboe and sings with a local barbershop quartet), a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry, a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, his dentist's degree, and his Master's of Science in Prosthodontics. He is licensed to practice Dentistry in Minnesota, Montana, and Washington.

Dr. Erickson is a member of the American Dental Association, the Spokane District Dental Society, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Washington State Society of Prosthodontics.
